The Fall of Johor (31 January 1942)

I can’t believe it. The British failed to stop Japanese from approaching Singapore after a month of battle in Malaya.

On January 1942, the Japanese finally captured Johor and prepared to invade Singapore. The British withdrew to Singapore and blew up the Causeway.
View of the blown up causeway, with the gap visible in the middle, which delayed Japanese landfall for over a week to 8 February
